From the beginning, when man stepped out into the sun from his dark cave, we have had the opportunity to meet, and therefore to exchange experiences and opinions, and the “desire to place” is born and grows. This “desire” creates, through the centuries, history, culture and civilisation. Here at Metalco, we are looking to follow and, as much as possible, to help this process by producing works of art for urban furniture. With this in mind, we would like to present the summary of our work, from over ten years, in partnership with architect Alessandro Lenarda.
Alessandro Lenarda, Venetian, born on 1st June 1939. After classical and musical studies, he graduated in architecture from Venice. Since 1976 he has been Associated Academic of the Tiberina Academy in Rome. He is a member of ADI (Association for Industrial Design) and BEDA (Bureau of European Designers’ Associations). He has exhibited 5 times at the 'Biennale Internazionale d’Arte di Venezia'. He has had two nominations and one 'Segnalazione d’Onore' at the Golden Compass awards. Some of his works make up part of the artistic patrimony of seven museums. His work has been the subject of degree theses (Università La Sapienza, Rome) and of the dissertation “Alessandro Lenarda a Murano” edited by Antonio Zoppas.
